Tac Aerial Hammerhead - High-Performance Avata 2 LED Navigation Kit

COMING SOON

Gone are the days when you forget to charge your drone lights or have to turn on each light individually, the Hammerhead's integrated light kit draws power from the Avata 2's onboard battery, eliminating the need to remove and charge lights separately. In situations where seconds matter, all of the lighting can be turned on by a single unified switch, reducing takeoff time to seconds. Operators can also leave the switch in the "on" position, so the lights fire up as soon as the Avata is started.

CONFIGURATION

2x Forward Facing CREE LEDS (medium throw) - 1000 lumens each (2000 lumens total)
1x Downward Facing CREE LED (flood) - 1200 lumens each

FEATURES

NO EXTRA BATTERIES - The Hammerhead is designed to take the full voltage of the drone battery (17 volts) making it easy to run the lights for the entire duration of every flight.

FULL OUTPUT - LED drivers provide full brightness for the entire flight - no step down in power. The Hammerhead's chassis has integrated heatsinks built-in, providing efficient cooling without the risk of overheating regardless if the Avata is airborne or stationary with no airflow.

SIMPLE SWITCH - Large, tactile on off switch only functions if the battery is powered ON - a failsafe of the Avata 2 battery. Activation of the LEDS is impossible if drone is powered OFF

RELIABLE PARTS - CREE COB LEDS, MEANWELL LED Drivers, aluminum chassis and heatsinks machined in Canada

WHY WE MADE THIS ACCESSORY?

The DJI Avata 2 is an incredibly reliable service drone, and its capabilities are extended when it can see in the dark. Additionally, the downward facing LED makes it possible for the optical sensors to function in the dark, and position hold, navigate, and land without the need for GPS.

WHY NOT A STANDALONE FLASHLIGHT?

During testing and while flying many batteries in rapid succession, we found that the small flashlight add-on systems (sometimes velcro'd on) that are widely available were not sufficient to sustain multiple flights without having to recharge, or swap the lights out completely. Additionally, because of the size of these small lights and their batteries, the light is programmed to "step down" their light output. This results in a drop in illumination part-way through the flight.

DOES IT REDUCE FLIGHT TIME?

With the addition of extra weight and (almost negligible) power draw, the flight time will be slightly reduced. In hover, our tests saw a reduction of 30 sec.

The Hammerhead is available as a ready to install kit, or can be installed on your existing drone by our team of in-house technicians.
